Can I Just Wear A Sports Bra Everyday?

Let's face it, after we've all spent so much time at home these last couple years during the pandemic, we want comfort. We want to throw on a comfy bra, throw on a sweater, cozy pants and call it a day, without giving it much thought.

As comfort is becoming more and more of a desired trend, many women find themselves wearing a sports bra more than just to the gym. We understand, if you're used to wearing an improper fitting bra or are looking for a nonwire option, a regular bra can be uncomfortable.

At first, many find that wearing a sports bra all day, everyday seems like a great idea as many believe that it may help maintain the shape of their breasts, reduce sagging and help absorb boob sweat. Although, the truth of doing this may not be this reality.

Yes, a true sports bra is important to have in your routine to help support the skin and Cooper's ligaments (ligaments near the breast which give them their size and shape) to stop from breaking down and causing breast sagging. As breasts do not have muscle, it is important to have the adequate support to reduce the breast movement during physical activites!

Although, sports bras are often too tight on the breasts and have been known to weaken back muscles, cause shoulder pain, and in turn ruin your posture. This can also create a whole list of problems for your skin including rashes and inflections. Constricting bras are never a good idea for long periods of time and we recommend switching to a soft wireless bra or bralette that are more ideal for long-term wear and lounging.

Keep in mind that it doesn’t matter if it’s a sports bra or traditional hook and eye style, you should avoid wearing any type of bra that’s too tight. A proper fit will always be important and thats where specialists like us come in to help!
